Mayor Dan McKee of Cumberland is running for Lieutenant Governor to help build better public schools, safer streets, solvent communities and more economic opportunity for all Rhode Island families.
As a private citizen, businessman and elected official, Dan has spent his adult life fighting for positive change in Rhode Island. He has owned and operated successful small businesses in the Blackstone Valley for the past 30 years. For over twenty-five years, Dan has been a member of the board of directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Cumberland-Lincoln, serving as past president of the executive board and chairman of the endowment committee. During his time on the Cumberland Town Council, Dan developed his skills as a basketball coach, coaching diverse groups of boys and girls at all levels, culminating in two State AAU Basketball Champions in 1998 and 2000.
Dan is currently serving in his sixth term as Cumberland’s Mayor. His record is one of strong fiscal management, visionary education initiatives, thoughtful
economic development and protection of Cumberland’s open spaces.
Educated at Cumberland High School, Assumption College and Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. Dan and his wife Susan have two children, Matt and Kara.
